The Mill Street Almshouses
The Wantage Town Lands Governors administer a number of separate charities, mostly concerned with providing almshouses for elderly or needy local people. Just west of the market place at the centre of Wantage nestles the terrace of eight cottages that are the Mill Street Almshouses, providing snug homes of character. Tucked away behind them is a secluded garden area, the serenity and amenity of which is currently destroyed by emergency scaffolding.
